First of all, the things I read about were exciting because the topic was related with students. It was the most important one , I have ever seen in our reading books. Everyone knows that students don’t like schools , but have you ever considered why they think like that? Based on this reason, I'm happy for the opportunity to read this text. Happily, some people understood the significance of schools and they are trying to make them enjoyable. I hope they will find a solution soon. The other reason why I think so that the author wrote his text perfectly. I learned a lot of information easily because he used cause and effect relation in that passage. For example, he posed several questions and then he explained all of them skillfully. Secondly, the reading text mentioned briefly about effects of teachers on students. In my opinion, teachers have enormous effects on students. On the other hand, some people underestimate the teachers’ effects on students. For this reason, it’s my point of view that they need to think outside the box. Finally, I was surprised when I realized that there is no evidence for differences in learning styles. I can't wrap my mind around it.

Our topic was about teachers and students this week. The text had many interesting ideas to me. I have learned a lot of information from the text and the speeches before reading the text. Also the text reminded me of my first teacher, and I understood importance of teachers on our school lives. I don’t believe existence of different learning styles, because learning depends on only one factor which is teacher. I believe that if the teacher likes and wants to teach, there is no reason not to learn for students. In this way, the text made me realize teachers’ role on us.
YanıtlaSilThe topic of this week is very interesting in contrast to last week's. The ideas which are in the passage are really useful. Agree with author because every student has a different learning style. Therefore, teachers should challenge each student especially in primary schools. Despite not having good educations, many students can be successful in their lives. It proofs that it is not necessary having good education. In this passage, my favorite part is 5. paragraph. The writer says, ' Stories draw us in (and are easy to remember) because they constantly pose small, solvable mental problems that invite us to interpret the action...' This sentence is very useful because that information might help many students in terms of changing their learning style. In brief, the passage is very instructive and useful the author's point is correct and passage reminded me of importance of teachers.
YanıtlaSilHi,everyone!It is obvious that this week's subject is more interesting than last week's subject:teachers and different kinds of learning process.The author of the passage says that teachers' main purpose in class is to ''maximize the likelihood that students will get the great feeling rush that comes from successful thought.''In my opinion,it is a very high aim for teachers because they have a lot of students.It is too difficult process for them in which they have to behave all students appropriately and equally,so being a teacher is a difficult and special job.To me,everyone can't be a good teacher.They sometimes affect students' lives in a bad way.For example,my primary school teacher didn't have enough information about education that's why I faced with some problems in my secondary and high school periods.In contrast,you can learn many things from teachers.Also,you can love a major thanks to teachers.Another subject in the passage is variations in students' learning styles.I had had wrong opinions about it before I read this passage.I thought that each person had a different learning skills such as visual,auditory,kinesthetic,etc,but according to some studies,it doesn't work.People's learning skills change from one person to person depending on their interests.For example,if I am interested in animals and plants,I tend to be more successful on biology.All in all,we try to love our majors and be successful;)
YanıtlaSilI think it was an interesting issue and when I read the comments which were written before me I realized that most of us liked it. I believe it is because of passage's being related to us. It was about teachers,students and learning styles. Before we read the text we talked about how the classes can be enjoyable for the students. We recommended some activities,discussed them and decided to apply suitable ones in class. With the passage, We learned that although people get satisfaction when they solve the problem,they shouldn't solve the problems which are not beneficial to make progress.And for teachers,it is hard to find problems which are easy to solve and beneficial for the students because they have different levels. And also we learned that memory works in an interesting way. We generally remember what we think about and it can cause some confusions.It was suggested in the passage that people can use stories to ensure what they learned.Another thing was that people have different learning styles or not?However,I believe each of us has different styles,according to the passage there is no such a thing. People have different interests,abilities etc. but not learning styles.Last thing was that in the past it was believed intelligence is inherited,but now scientist believe environment also has a strong effect on intelligence.People can become more itelligent by watching less tv, putting a little infirmation everyday,watching informative documentaries etc. To me, we can improve our intelligence by using our favorite lessons or our interests.For example, I'm interested in maths and I can study and learn new things about maths everyday.In time, my capacity and intelligence can get higher and higher and also I believe every one of us has different ways or styles to learn because people have different interests and they associate the things they learned with their interests.
YanıtlaSilWe read about teacher’s effects on the students.It was also about students’ learning system.First of all,I want to say that teachers certainly have lots of effects on students about learning something.For example,when I was at high school which is 9th graduate,we were suppose to learn English.First day,I was really excited about that,because I want to learn it.However,we met with our teacher.I always tried to speak with her in English,but she always steered class of us.After a few months,I had been understood that she had not like us much,and either did us.She always scolwed us expect one girl in the class who always cry about her points.Our “lovely” teacher gived her lots of extra points even we had got higher point.Our extra points were low everytime.End of the year,I was thankful that I did not have to join her class anymore.After that year I just thought that I did not learn anything about English.A whole year was in vain.There was nothing to do about this what could I do?On the other hand,I started this school and I awared that we were really lucky.Beause all of our teachers are great people and they care about us a lot.Likewise,I can see that easily we are being prepared for TOEFL in a short time.Finally,I think that teacher are the most important key for the accomplishment for all of these reasons.
YanıtlaSilThis week our topic was "Teachers are Key for Students".Although the topic was classic,I could learn a lot of information in the text.Firstly,the author said that there was no evidence for differences in learning styles.I don't agree this idea.I think everybody has different ways of learning. For example I can learn and remember better by seeing some pictures. However I agree that everybody has different abilities and interests,so they can be good at them easily. Secondly,it used to be thought by scientists that intelligence was inherited.However, they now think that environment affects it,too.I think environment is the biggest effect. We can improve our intelligence by reading well-written books all the time. Also,the teachers can affect our lives,especially in primary school. Finally,I agree that teachers must engage all the students and prepare them different levels. In conclusion,this text made me realize the importance of teachers. I think it is very difficult job.I admire teachers' patience:)
YanıtlaSilFirst of all, teachers are very important for their students. Also, they’re key of the success because they teach some useful information to the students. If they don’t teach them, the students can’t have a good job in the future. I think nobody likes that event. Secondly, the relationship between the students and the teacher is very important because some students’ success depends on it like me. For example, if I don’t like my teacher, I can’t learn anything from him. I know that you think it is a little bit childish, but I don’t agree with you. Finally, I learnt a very amazing information from the reading text. I believed that people have different ways of learning the same material, but it was totally wrong. According to the reading text, there is no evidence for differences in learning styles. I was very surprised when I learnt it.
YanıtlaSilWe read a text about school.I think it is a good choice for us because we are at school almost a day and everyone has different ideas.Usually we find it boring and tiring,but I do not find it boring because I love school.I would rather study at school than stay at home.I also think that we can make school more enjoyable in kindergarten.For example,my sister went to a private kindergarten and she was satisfied.They had plenty of beneficial activities there.We had a nice bond with her teachers.My parents were happy and they wanted to do something for my sister’s school so my father arranged a tree festival for prinking in.All of the students digged and pricked in on a weekend in my father’s working place.Everybody was sincere,and children spent their time in nature.It was a great activity for them.I mean that we can make school good for them if we want,and they are not bored.Next,I agree with our book about stories.If I link between issues and stories,I can remember easily.The last example of this is in chapter 7.I had not known anything about American History before we read it.Now I still remember this issue because of Seda Teacher’s expression.She help me to link American History and a story which is about eighth Henri and Boleyn Girls.I am sure that I will not forget them anymore.Finally,we learned that intelligence can be improved.I wish it were easier than now so we could improve our skills in English.It can be easy to pass the TOEFL.
YanıtlaSilOur last topic was we,i.e students.Students'interest about lesson and school.'Which factors do affect this interest?'and 'Why students don't like school?'were our questions.We found some reason for example,some class are very boring or difficult for us.If we don't achieve a lesson ,we don't like this lesson.Other important reason is our friends.We spend all time with them if we don't get on with them,we don't want to go school.Final reason is ,I think the most important, teachers.If I don't like my teacher,her or his class becomes unbearable for me and I don't achieve his/her class.However a good teacher has lots of qualifications such as patience,understanding,self denial.Because each students have different capacity,so teachers should engage each students differently,but when they do this work ,they should treat fairly.Briefly,I realize that one more time,being teacher is very difficult job.
YanıtlaSilMy opinion of this reading text is very impressive for many reasons.This reading text made me realize that appropriate education is the most important part of our lives. The students which want to be successful in any field should read the text. The writer gave us several examples,such as getting all the students equal in the class. If some students felt differently than others, it would be dangerous for education quality. A teacher who want to teach something in the right way should obey some rules. God gave us the same brain, bur some of us can use it more effectively than others. It can't be said that the more successful students are, the more clever they are. To sum up, If science were in China, you should go there,and learn it. Everything is possible if you set your heat on it.
YanıtlaSilWe read a passage which is Teachers Are Key for Students. Also we discussed how we can do the classes enjoyable. While we were discussing about this issue, I enjoyed a lot. Some of my friends and I said our opinion about it, and the following day, we played taboo which one of our friends said that it could be an enjoyable to learn a lot of vocabulary. I enjoyed, too while we were playing taboo. When it comes to the passage, it mentioned about how teachers can be good for students. According to this text, people do enjoy mental work or, more exactly, people enjoy successful work, so the challenge for a teacher is to find that perfect amount of mental difficulty, and to find it simultaneously for 25 students, each with a different level of preparation. It looks difficult to find it, but it can be I think. Again in the text, there is a sentence which is that memory is the residue of thought. I think it is true because the memory can forget something which is seldom repeated, so it can forget it. If you think more and more about something, your memory uses it a lot, and this subject cannot be forgotten because of your memory. Finally I thought about this text this week, so I enjoyed a lot. YanıtlaSilThis week’s topic was really different from others. As we read, it was about students and teachers. Actually this text was mainly about systems, especially how the system in the United States is different from others. So author mentioned a lot of details, numbers, systems, and so on… For example, the USA 3,500 institutions were flooded with students from China and 36,610 from Japan, followed by India and Canada. It is obvious that there are many students go to the USA for education. However, this text did not mention how many of them reached their purposes, or how many of them got happy after having such an education. This text was mainly based on good things in the USA. Also it supposed with a lot of detailed information. Additionally, I believe in the variety in students’ learning styles. Because of that, the teachers have a significant role on their students. I think it is really respectful job.
