We read a text about the Ice Man, who was well dressed in instulated clothing and equipped with tools needed to survive the Alpine climate. Its title is A Messenger from the past. This passage was really enjoyable and interesting for me. While we were talking about how he can die, or why he can die, or what his nationality is, I was very impressed because he was found in the Italian Tyrol near the Austrian border 4,000 yers ago. It is really interesting that his body was not damaged in spite of too many years the past. When this man's corpse was found by a German couple hiking at 10,500 feet, there were some tools with him ; namely an all-purpose stone knife, a wooden backpack, a bow and a quiver, a small bag containing a flint lighter and kindling, and an arrow repair kit in a leather pouch. According to the passage, unlike the Egyptians and Mesopotamians of the time, who had more advanced civilizations with cities and central authority, the Ice Man and his countrymen lived in a society built around small, stable villages. According to the passage again, he probably spoke in a tongue ancestral to current European languages. His nationality is not clear, but I agree with the author because he displayed some proofs about this opinion in this passage, and I think probably he is true. In addition, I learned a lot of things from this passage and the Seda teacher's saying. For example, This Ice-Man's corpse is shown in the British Museum in London. In the class, Seda teacher said that the muslims believe that in fact this man is Pharaoh(Firavun), and while he was prostrating oneself, he died. Also in the class, we discussed how he can die. Our friends' opinions about that maybe he died because of heart attack, or while he were digging somewhere or hunting, he died. We discussed a lot of things about it. As a result, although this man's photo looks terrible on the book's page, I really enjoyed in this class. Thank you (=
YanıtlaSilOur text was about a messenger from the past this week. The text was so enjoyable, actually. We learned a lot about our Ice Man. However, we don’t know about something, anyway. For example, his nationality is unknown, so is his language. Although he was in Italy when he died, his nationality may be different, such as Greek, Russian, and German. I believe that if scientists study his tattoos, they may reach a decision about his nation. Also details of his death are still secrets. According to the passage, our Ice Man was well-equipped. I mean he had a lot of tools which are an ax, a knife, a quiver and fourteen arrows, and even an arrow repair kit. He had anything to protect himself, and we have already known that he didn’t die because of hunger. Maybe he died because of cold weather, but he also had leather garments and boots. I think the real reason is different. While he was hunting, he may have had a heart attack, because he might have run a lot to catch the animal. Then it may have snowed. In this case, his corpse was protected. No matter how he died, thanks to his corpse, we could be delivered the message from the past.
YanıtlaSilThis week we read a text about Ötzi. No one thought that he was handsome because his age is awesome. He is exactly more than 5,000 years old. He also be a mummy somehow, and hikers found some equipment next to him, namely a copper axe with a yew handle, a flint-bladed knife with an ash handle and a quiver of 14 arrows with viburnum and dogwood shafts. Additionally, they found some sophisticated clothes, such as a cloak made of woven grass and a coat, a belt, a pair of leggings, a loincloth and shoes, all made of leather of different skins. Also I was influenced by tattoos on him. Actually, generally his clothing attracts my attention, but his tattoos were very interesting too. Ötzi had an arrowhead lodged in his left shoulder when he died, and a matching small tear on his coat. As a matter of fact that nobody knows how he killed or dead certainly; however, there are many theories we discussed in the class. During the reading, this passage was very exciting. I am really impressed by it.
YanıtlaSilWe read a text about the Ice man who died approximately 5,000 years ago.His corpse was founded by a German couple.He had clothes which are genuien ladder and some gears such as kindling, quiver , berries repair kit etc. with him when his corpse was founded. Although hundreds years pasted, his corpse was not damaged. Nobody knows how it could be possible ,but he might be frozen. Also some people think he had been a pharaoh and he had died while he had been praying. Now his corpse is in the British Museum in London. Our topic was interesting and enjoyable . I learned not also information about the Ice man but also some vocabularies.
YanıtlaSilLast week,we read a passage about the man-I can call him ''corpse'':D-who lived 4,000 years ago.I like mysterious stories,so I also like these types of passages.Actually,this man can present a lot of things to scientists to research him.They have already discovered a lot of things from his gears which are his pouch,tattooes on his body,and so on,but they haven't found his identity yet.There are many predictions about him.Besides,there are a lot of questions in people's mind about how this man died.It is obvious that he didn't die due to hunger because berries were found in his pouch.In my opinion,he may have died because of natural disasters such as avalanche,landslide,etc.Maybe,he tried to hunt some animals and got lost.However he died,he is a very essential resource for scientists to learn important information from the past.

YanıtlaSilThis week, our topic was about ‘A Messenger from Past.’ I was very curious about this topic, but I didn’t read this text well because there was a man’s photo, and it was really wild. Firstly, the reading text was really good. While I was reading it, I was very happy. The author told us a very unusual event. Secondly, there are a lot of predictions about how this man died. I had thought about it a lot before I wrote this comment, but unfortunately, I couldn’t make a prediction. Finally, I had been very curious about this man age before I read the reading text. I learnt from the text that this man’s age was 4,000 years.
YanıtlaSilThis week our topic was about a messenger from the past. I found the text very interesting. I liked the first paragraph a lot because it made me curious. A German couple discovered the Ice Man's corpse while they were hiking.While I was reading this information,I thought that I can't put myself in their shoes.Finding a freeze-dried body must be disgusting,but their discovery is very important for archeological studies.Also,from the text I could learn that freeze-dried body is much better preserved than Egyption mummies.In my opinion,the Ice Man was hunting when he died, because remnants of animal skin and bones were found at the same spot where he died.Also, he had carried a stone knife,a bow and a quiver,and an arrow repair kit.I think all of them are clues of being a hunter.In addition,I think all the stuff which were found with him are believable,except the remainder of pile of berries.I think they can not remain for such a long time.Finally,I can learn a lot of information about the Ice Man and researches about finding his identity.I think that the text was a well-organized and enjoyable one.
YanıtlaSil'Ice Man' is an interesting text. I enjoyed a lot when I was reading and commenting about the passage. It is very amazing that how a corpse has remained in a good circumstance for a long time; of course, the freeze-dried body is the reason of that. I was surprise when I learned this information. Furthermore, I learned many other things in this passage. For instance, the vocabulary of the text is one of them. Also, I learned that people could forge the stones, and use it as equipment roughly 4,000 years ago. Additionally, the text made a picture in my mind. For example, I can imagine that how the ancient people had been living. To sum up, the topic lured me and I really appreciate to read this passage.
YanıtlaSilOur reading text was about a Messenger from the past last week.I think this chapter is the most interesting one in our reading book.Actually we had two passages and we learned a lot of information about Ötzi,Ice man.Next,we tried to make guesses about his death.We used some clues from his copse in order to reach some conclusions.These clues are his gears like quiver,ax,stone knife and kindling.We thought that he may have been hunting.Next,he had braided mat of grass,so we can accept that he was aware of the coldness.Also a pile of berries are found with him,they are remainder,and we understood that he did not die due to hunger.I am really amazed by his corpse.I cannot believe that it was frozen 5.000 years ago.I realize that cold weather condition is really efficient because it had preserved the corpse for a long time.Also I do not want to be in German couple’s shoes because it is an astonishing experience and he looks horrific.Next,I was really curious about Ötzi’s tattoos.If had the chance,I would go to his age.I wanted to know why they got tattoos,but as far as I search from the Internet,scientists think that these tattoos are really important.They are really close the Accupuncture points,so Ötzi may have had a kind of stomach-illness.Then,I was shocked by some articles,they mentioned about the damnation of Ötzi.The articles stated that seven people who concern with Ötzi died in fourteen years.For example,the male one of German couple recover a lawsuit about Ötzi,and he wanted to return the place where Ötzi was found.Initially,weather was good but it turned a blizzard.Finally,he fell down from a cliff which is very close death place of Ötzi.Then, Dr.Henn who investigated the corpse was going to a lecture which is about Ötzi,and he had an accident on the way.We do not know what happened Ötzi,actually.I hope we will find another messengers or evidences. :)
YanıtlaSilLast week we read a text about 4000 years old corpse.I think topic was interesting and enjoyable.Beginning of the lesson our teacher showed us some photos about pharaoh.In my opinion,it is unbelievable,because his body still looks like a person who dead a few days ago.However,the ice man was under freeze water and his body has not decomposed.It is more reasonable reason to explain how the body was protected than pharaoh's.However,the body was found by a German couple who were hiker.When they found him on the mountain,they saw some tools and foods next to him.Before he died,he had been carrying some of vital things.It shows that he might be hunter.In addition,his death is also complicated.There is no scientific explanation,but I guess he was tired and he wanted to take a nap but he couldn't wake up again.

YanıtlaSilOur topic is more particular than others.These two texts had different and intersting information.On the other hand these texts contain some indenfinitenesses and obscurities such as,how did these people die?These situation made the class more enjoyable.Because every student said own predictions about this question.We listened several opinions some opinions are very romantic,some of are about religious cause and some people's ideas include natural causes.However this job was enjoyable for me only when I listened others.Because I think I am not a creative person,I do not have any intersting or extraordinary idea about this topic.Also there were some photos in our books and these photos were so disgusting and yet so evocatory.I think we had the most creative class last week.
YanıtlaSilThere are many reasons Otzi is very exiting character to me. The text made me realize about my family. Otzi was found as a lonely man, and it is too bad situation for me. I was not going to want to be as Gotzi. Also, the writer remids me of many things related to languages and European countries. Besides that, i am so luck to have a good family which always ptorects me agaist enemies, and the writer could manage to keep me interested in this passage.
YanıtlaSilFirst of all,If I had the chance to talk to author of this text, I would thank him/her a lot. His topic is the most interesting topic I have ever seen in my reading books. Also, he explained the stories of Ice Man and Otzi skillfully. Secondly, I learned a lot of information from this week's texts. At our reading lessons, we generated enormously ideas about what caused the death of Otzi and Ice Man. Thus, we developed our points of view. Finally, it was so beneficial for me.
